Hyderabad: The Telangana government has provided an update on the issuance of new ration cards. The government announced that new ration cards will be issued from Ugadi. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy approved the new ration card model on Tuesday. The Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare the new ration cards in light blue color. The ration card model has been approved to feature the photos of both CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. A QR code will also be included on the ration card.

There are 80 lakh white ration cards in the state. Even those who already have ration cards will receive the new ones. CM Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to distribute the new ration cards to all 80 lakh cardholders. Eligible individuals can apply for new ration cards at Mee Seva centers, as announced by the government. This has led to a rush of people at Mee Seva centers. Since ration cards are essential for various welfare schemes provided by the central and state governments, people are heavily applying for the new ration cards.

The Ugadi festival will be celebrated on March 30 this year. On this day, CM Revanth Reddy will officially begin the process of issuing new ration cards. He has decided that every eligible family should receive a ration card. Applications for new ration cards are flooding in across Telangana. New ration card applications have been received through Prajavani, Gram Sabhas, and Mee Seva centers. According to officials, around 13 lakh applications have been received so far for new ration cards.
